Our Projects

Education is a fundamental right, and it is also the most powerful tool we have for sustainable development.

St Columba Primary and High School.

St Columba Primary and High School is the location of the first of Nemanwa Project Managers projects.

They are both located in Honde Valley in the East of Zimbabwe. This beautiful valley of rolling green Banana fields is home to the second highest waterfalls in Africa, the Mutarazi falls. At the centre of the valley, you will find Hauna growth point, a bustling rural  business centre connecting Honde Valley to the rest of the world. It is here that you will find St Columba Primary and High School, one of only three high schools servicing a burgeoning population.

In January 2024, Nemanwa Project Managers organised a two-day training event, aimed at resuscitating the schools’ Agri-businesses, that were heavily affected by the COVID pandemic.

St Joseph´s Primary School, Rusape Zimbabwe

Initial vegetable garden project has now expanded into Income Generating Projects in Rabbitry, Poultry, Goat keeping, Fisheries, Piggery, Apiculture and now Vermiculture. Sustainable farming practices such as Permaculture have been adopted. 2500 students participate in hands on agriculture lessons and activities, 1500 students benefit from school feeding, produce is sold to the surrounding community, teachers buy produce at subsidised prices. School fees hikes are lower than those in sister schools and salaries of ancillary staff and school wifi are financed through sales from these projects. The school has a separate ´projects`bank account and has drafted a business plan for expansion

Sihlengeni High School, Esigodini Zimbabwe

Sihlengeni Government High school is a hybrid of donor support for Social Entrepreneurial activities. The school currently has a goat project, a garden, a layers project and a tuckshop. Parents and students provide manpower vis a vis farming the garden and rearing the animals. Despite a seemingly weak entrepreneurial culture, the school realises some profits from their daily sales of eggs, and their tuckshop. Previous sales of poultry reared by the children allowed the school to buy three months worth of sanitary pads for 140 students in 2021. Furthermore, they report former students entering into the informal labour force as semi-skilled and skilled farm workers and crafters.  Sihlengeni has a separate bank account for their Income Generating Projects.

Highfields High School, Harare, Zimbabwe

Purchased two Solar Powered ICT systems for the School on a Pay-As-You-Go basis with an arrangement to pay over 36 months. The systems were supplied by Regain37 (PVT ltd), a for profit Social Impact Enterprise in 2020.

The two systems cost USD5727 and USD5839 respectively and USD11566 in total. The school was able to pay off the cost of the systems in 9 months. Twenty seven months earlier than expected.

Prior to the purchase of the solar powered ICT system, the school had been purchasing 5000 litres of diesel per term to run a generator for their computer labs and administration block. The school now only buys 2000 litres of diesel.
