Nemanwa Project Managers has partnered with Information Technology professional Simbarashe Mpiwi, to provide high value ITC certification training in fields such as cyber security and Artificial Intelligence to women in Zimbabwe. Simbarashe is an expert level  ITC certifications trainer with a heart for people. His goal is to reach people who wouldn’t traditionally have access to such skills and help them gain access to the labour market using highly sought after ICT skills because he knows the advantages having such skills can bring.  

Together we have piloted a flexible training program for women in the workforce with Nemanwa Project Managers coming on board to help convene and coordinate the training. Training has been ongoing since March 2024 and we are happy to announce that from an initial cohort of 20 working women we now remain with six who have pushed through training sessions in the face of erratic power supplies, limited connectivity, wife, partner, mother duties and full time jobs. These women completed an initial round of training and their first Microsoft challenge and will now proceed to get more in depth training in cybersecurity and thereafter artificial intelligence. They write their first exam in June and we wish them well.  

The right ICT Certifications can be just as powerful if not more so than a Bachelors’ degree. In these tough economic times, it is well worth considering taking this shorter less expensive route towards getting qualified.  Many thanks to Simba for graciously offering his time and knowledge to a group of strangers.
